The 2009 Bloody Mary Pursuit Race will go down onto the pages of history as one of the most extreme dinghy races sailed in recent years.
In the 36 years that Queen Mary Sailing Club have run the event, it has never had to be cancelled (though it was abandoned one year as savage squalls flattened the fleet). Would 2009 though be the year that the record was broken?
This was not just a cold day, it was a bitterly raw day, with freezing fog and little wind forecast.
The podcast includes interviews with the Race Officer and competitors, all of whol took the time to speak to Bearfacemedia, even though they really were 'frozen' at the time.
